Arizona Hunter Course Information

Who needs to take this course?
You need hunter education if you are 10 to 13 years old and will be hunting big game in Arizona.
Arizona does not require bowhunter education. Students may still take a bowhunter education course if they plan on bowhunting in states that require certification.

Registration requirements
Students taking the Arizona hunter education course may be required to provide:
- Customer ID
- Ethnicity
- Eye color
- Hair color
- Height
- Weight

Course expiration and extensions
Arizona hunter education courses expire after 90 days.
Extensions are available for the following course options:

Quizzes and final exam
Exam requirements may vary by course option.
Hunter-Ed: Quizzes include 5 questions. Students must score 80% or higher to pass. Students have unlimited quiz attempts. The final exam includes 75 questions, and students must score 80% or higher to pass. Students have 2 attempts.
Ilearntohunt: Quizzes include 5 questions. Students must score 80% or higher to pass. Students have unlimited quiz attempts. The final exam includes 75 questions, and students must score 80% or higher to pass. Students have 2 attempts.
Field day requirements
There is no field day requirement for the online-only course.
After completing the course
After completing the Arizona course, students can print their temporary certificate.
The plastic card will arrive in the mail.
Bowhunter education
Arizona does not require bowhunter education.
Students may still take the Arizona bowhunter education course if they plan on bowhunting in states that require certification:
