Who needs to take this course?
You need hunter education if you want to purchase a hunting license in Hawaii.
Hawaii does not require bowhunter education. Students may still take a bowhunter education course if they plan on bowhunting in states that require certification.

Registration requirements
There are no additional registration requirements listed for the Hawaii Hunter-Ed course.
Students may be asked to provide their island of residence during registration or select Not Applicable.
Course expiration and extensions
The Hawaii Hunter-Ed course expires after 90 days.
Extensions are available for the following course option:

Quizzes and final exam
Hunter-Ed: Quizzes include 5 questions. Students must score 75% or higher to pass. Students have unlimited quiz attempts.
The final exam includes 50 questions. Students must score 80% or higher to pass. Students have unlimited attempts.
Field day requirements
There is no Field Day requirement for Hawaii.
After completing the course
After completing the Hawaii course, students can print their Course Completion Certificate.
Hawaii does not issue a temporary certificate.
The permanent Hunter Education Certificate is mailed by the Hawaii Department of Land and Natural Resources and typically arrives within 1-3 weeks.
Bowhunter education
Hawaii does not require bowhunter education.

Replacement cards
Replacement cards are handled by the state of Hawaii.
