Registration requirements

Course expiration and extensions
The Washington Hunter-Ed course expires after 90 days.
Extensions are available for the following course option:

Quizzes and final exam
Hunter-Ed: Quizzes include 5-15 questions. Students must score 80% or higher to pass. Students have unlimited quiz attempts.
The final exam includes 75 questions. Students must score 80% or higher to pass. Students have unlimited attempts.
Field day requirements
Washington requires a Field Skills Evaluation Course, also called Skills Day.
After completing the online course, students can immediately print their Exam Certificate. Students must bring the Exam Certificate with them to the Field Skills Evaluation Course.

After completing the course
After completing the online course, students must:
- Print their Skills Day voucher
- Complete Skills Day
- Receive their permanent card in the mail from the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife
Military and peace officer exemptions
Active-duty or honorably discharged members of the U.S. military who are stationed in Washington or are Washington residents may be exempt from the Field Skills Evaluation Course after passing the Washington online hunter education exam.
To apply for the military exemption, students must send their Exam Certificate and Military Exemption Form to:
Peace officers may also qualify for an exemption from the Field Skills Evaluation Course. To apply, students must send their Exam Certificate, current or retired commission card, and completed Peace Officer Exemption Form to:
Replacement cards
Students who took the Washington Hunt with Virtual Field Day course can order a replacement through ilostmycard.com.
All other students may need to be referred to the state for replacement card assistance.
